Zynga Poker Now In China

For those who are into the popular social networking site Facebook, Zynga Poker is surely known to them, as this is one of the most known games of Zynga aside from Farmville and many others. Recently, Zynga has launched a localized version of the popular poker game in Hong Kong and Taiwan. According to Zynga CEO Mark Pincus, this move will give Zynga particularly the Poker game more access to the social gaming audience since the much known social network site Facebook is still banned in most part of mainland China.

In the statement of Zynga CEO, he said that they are excited in bringing Zynga poker to Hong Kong and Taiwan and let local players connect to almost 30 million players around the globe that are already active on Zynga Poker.

Zynga has lots to offer in order to attract many of the local poker players in Hong Kong and Taiwan. One of the offers includes an 8,888 free poker chips and a chance to win $880,000 Taiwanese dollars of cold cash. All of Zynga’s newbie players from Hong Kong and Taiwan are the one’s eligible and entitled of the said promo. Since number eight is a lucky number in the Chinese culture, Zynga find it a clear attempt to become more popular with a new audience whatever their language maybe.

This act of Zynga is an obvious indication that the known game developer is actively targeting the Asian market. It has been known that prior to the launch of Zynga Poker in Hong Kong and Taiwan, the company was able to buy a Japanese gaming startup Unoh and received a $150 million investment from Softbank Capital of Japan and set up a Beijing office after they have acquired the Chinese game developer XPD Media.

Zynga Poker was launched in July of 2007 and was Zynga’s first ever social game. Today, it is already the thirst most popular game in Facebook globally and served more than 28 million players monthly.
