Robbery! – Duhamel temporarily in hospital

The penultimate WSOP champion Jonathan Duhamel from Canada yesterday at his home in Quebec victim of a robbery.

Duhamel lives in Boucherville on the outskirts of Montreal. He was treated in hospital after the incident, but is now back home.

According to the local daily newspaper Globe and Mail Two men rang the doorbell at Duhamel’s apartment door and then were to gain access by force.

The police would later identify Duhamel officially not a victim, but his agent has now confirmed that it is the champion.

Duhamel was injured in the attack, but he managed to dial the emergency number and inform the police. He was admitted to hospital with minor injuries.

“We are not talking of attempted kidnapping,” said police spokesman Mark David against cyberpresse.ca, “but of violent attack. Jonathan Duhamel was the victim of an assault. ”

Duhamel has apparently gotten some hits. Permanent damage is unlikely, however.

The police are still considering whether it was a targeted attack on the World Series winner, or whether he just happened to victims of this crime was.

Nobody was arrested.

Jonathan Duhamel won the WSOP Main Event in 2010 and received $ 8.7 million more since then he has seen $ 600,000 in prize money.
